Where will my Cosmetic Gynecologic Surgery be performed?

Surgery is done on an outpatient basis. Two options are available: you can schedule your surgery at our fully accredited Plastic surgery office under local anesthesia with conscious sedation, or request surgery to be done under general anesthesia at Center for Ambulatory Surgery ( ). Because your safety is our first concern, our surgeons always use board certified anesthesiologists to ensure your surgery is as safe as possible.

What is the average length of time of a Cosmetic Gynecologic Surgery?

The average length of time is usually between 1 and 2 hours. May be little longer if multiple procedures are performed. An additional hour or so is spent in the recovery room afterwards.

Can multiple Cosmetic Gynecologic Surgeries be done at the same time?

Yes. Several surgeries can be combined and done at the same time.

Cosmetic Gynecologic Surgery recovery time and expectations?

Shortly after surgery you may experience mild discomfort and swelling. You will be provided with pain medications and antibiotics to be used if needed. All sutures that we use are absorbable and therefore do not need to be removed. Return to work is usually within a few days to one week, depending upon your activity level. Sexual activity usually can be resumed at six weeks after the surgery. Tampon use is restricted for four weeks on average. You may resume exercise approximately four weeks after the surgery.

What are the risks associated with Cosmetic Gynecologic Surgery?

The most frequently reported risks of vaginal surgery may include bleeding, infection, scarring and decreased clitoral sensation. Complications are possible but with our experience and surgical techniques they are uncommon.

How many post operative visits are required after Cosmetic Gynecologic Surgery?

For our local patients we recommend post operative visits at one, two, four and six weeks to insure proper healing and excellent results. For our patients from out of town we recommend, if possible, a post operative visit at three to four weeks.

Does insurance cover the cost of Cosmetic Gynecologic Surgery?

Insurance usually does not cover this surgery because it is considered elective.

What is the cost of private consultation and Cosmetic Gynecologic Surgery?

Surgical Consultation is $100. Pricing for individual procedures range from $2000 to $3,500. When multiple procedures are performed, the cost will be higher but discount will be applied. If you decide to proceed with surgery, consultation fee will be credited towards surgery. Anesthesia and surgical facility fees are separate.
